There was a long chain of events that caused it, and I've been on the Metronizdale (sp) antibiotic probably 5 or 6 times! And just like the storied I've read here, it would always come back within a couple weeks, sometimes worse than the time before! I was so happy when I found this site! I started out with the loading dose of 1600mg of Folic acid and 2 of the 1 billion acidopholis. I have been suffering with BV since Febuary of this year. I'll continue to use my apple cider vinegar douche and H2O2 splash as well. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for everybody but for me personally, I think it will help alleviate the excessive moisture and odor that have plagued me for many years. This is certainly a radical choice and the jury is still out on 'why' or 'if' a woman should make such a choice. However, I think an added benefit will be less tissue to collect bacteria and odor. It is a plastic surgery to correct what some may deem a physical problem. I just got a cosmetic procedure called labiaplasty to cosmetically correct hypertrophic labia minora. The hydrogen peroxide is better for me as a wash. I really think the apple cider vinegar douche was key for me. This regimen, combined with vitamins and decent diet, seems to keep the BV (and yeast) away. Every day in the shower I do a little splash of the following mixture: half hydrogen peroxide/half distilled water/10 drops tea tree oil. The apple cider vinegar can sting a little so I try not to do the douche too often. I do eat yogurt 4 times a week.Ībout twice a month I douche with half apple cider vinegar/half distilled water (in a small disposable douche bottle). I used the folic acid and acidophilous tablets orally for about a month along with other vitamins but haven't taken them for several months. It takes a little trial and error to get it right.
